Looking forward to the new Windows 8 “Metro” style interface? Now, you can bring a likeness of the Windows Menu straight to your desktop. Using the amazing Rainmeter and the Omnimo skin by fediaFedia, the process is nothing short of easy.

The Omnimo theme is a set of various widgets styled to look like the Windows 8 Start Screen and adding its own touch to make it look better. The whole theme is extremely customisable.

It comes with about fifty different panels, from system stats, to weather, to application launchers. Each widget can be completely edited using an included GUI interface, you can change the size, font and transparency.

The styling of the skin can be configured extensively, you can choose to change the transparency of the widgets, enable a Windows Aero-like effect, and much more.

Once you have installed the theme, you will be greeted with a pre-set layout. It works great, but if you are the tinker type, you can change it. The package comes with a special widget to browse and add additional widgets painlessly, on the press of a button. Donators also get access to additional exclusive widgets.

Personally, I find this works great with Fences and the Windows 8 Visual Style by the same author.
