A few days ago, both Google and Twitter released customizable versions of their +1 button and the Follow button, respectively.

+1 buttonWe talked about how you can now “+1″ search results you find useful on Google a while ago, but Google just recently rolled out its embedded version of the new +1 button. Users can now recommend content to their friends, and your recommendations will be shows to friends(if enabled), as well as customizing your friend’s search queries to show the most relevant results.

You can check out one of the +1 buttons on the left sidebar on this very article!

Webmasters can implement this button on their sites, but don’t expect a sudden influx of referral visitors, like the StumbleUpon, Facebook or Twitter button. People clicking +1 buttons will gradually increase the amount of organic visitors coming from Google. This button is available in four formats, vertically or horizontally.

On another news, Twitter has also just rolled out their “Follow” buttons, making it even easier to advertise your Twitter account on any website or blog. Before, users have to manually navigate to your Twitter profile page before being able to “follow” you. Now, it can be done in the click of a button, without even leaving the website.
