South ParkComedy Central’s website lets you watch the latest episodes of South Park, The Daily Show or The Colbert Report online as long you are from the Unites States. Hundreds of South Park episodes at your fingertips for free. However, viewers in Canada, UK and other countries in Europe will be greeted with an error message on the video player.

Fortunately, a workaround can be used to trick the website to let you view the episodes. Using a browser plugin, you can spoof the website by making you look like you are from the US.

Modify Headers for Comedy CentralTo make this work, you’ll need to use Mozilla Firefox. Google Chrome doesn’t support modifying browser headers via extensions and cannot use this workaround.

  1. Download this Firefox extension: Modify Headers
  2. Restart Firefox
  3. In the Tools menu, click Modify Headers at the bottom
  4. In the top left drop down box, select “Add”.
  5. In the first input box, put X-Forwarded-For
  6. In the second box, put
  7. Leave the last box empty and click “Add”!
  8. Optional: You can go in the “Configuration” and check “Always On”.
  9. You can now watch The Daily Show, Colbert Report and South Park on their respective websites!

If you choose to skip the last optional step, you will need to open the Modify Headers window (and leave it open) each time you are playing a video from Comedy Central.

If you enable “Always On”, you will not have to. However, it will enable spoofing on all websites and may cause some other websites to act erratically.

This trick will also work on certain other websites like MTV. Unfortunately, Hulu still doesn’t work :-( .
