First Person Shooter on Xbox Kinect

This pretty much confirms my assumptions. Kinect is a mess and always will be. Now you might say that it might be a flaw in the game design, but I don’t see how can you play a game without holding anything in your own hands.

If you want to camp or use a sniper, good luck. You probably will have hold your hands still for a long time while standing. Any unwanted movements will change your aim. Pretty much everyone in the video struggled to even move around, they just slam right into the obstacles and walls.

Microsoft Kinect is a gimmick that’s fun for probably a few hours before the novelty wears out and you will want to use the old fashioned controllers.

So yeah, the Xbox controller isn’t broken; doesn’t bother to fix it.

Yea Kinect looks pretty stupid. I think video games should stick to how they were supposed to be, with a controller. Look at those clunky controls, and HORRIBLE graphics.

this does look pretty tacky, but the kinect is also new, maybe later in the future they will be able to make a better fps for it.

Of course you would need something in your hand as a gun no matter what. It’s to make the game play more realistic, so you wouldn’t go into a real paintball game or combat situation without your weapon.
Not to mention camping is for no talent losers that can’t play the game. Kinect is designed to get fat ass’s of their couch and evolve the way you play games . If they don’t bring out first person shooters then it’s a waste of time. Nobody wants to play wii like games all day!

Yeah so I actually BOUGHT a kinect.

It’s FUN as hell, great for party games and having fun with my friends and family while playing.

That being said, it’s NOT for some games…..it’s for specific games. It’s not a fact of the xbox controller being broken, it’s just moving ahead in the world.

I wouldn’t blame the kinect for this. more the developers. I don’t think people should even try to make any kind of game like this on kinect. going on full body movements chances are it wouldn’t be able to pick up the difference between shooting and looking upwards.

if there was a small controller like a light gun sort of thing it might work for casual gaming. but turning and aiming would be a pain in the ass both to implement and to play without it being massively retarded.

Ok, why did you write this if you never even actually have kinect? Because if you did, you would see that it is really good. You haven’t even used it, just looked. you can’t judge something just by watching a video. also, you can’t even see that much gameplay in the video. this game doesn’t even look like its finished anyway. and a kinect shooter can be made. it track movement really well. also, one last thing. actually try something before you go making up all this stuff about it.

I agree with Dan, i thought about ways that a FPS would work even before i bought the Kinect. i just bought it 3 days ago and love it. as mentioned above you would have to have something like a light gun to play but other then that i have thought of how the movement would work and right down to throwing a frag. check out youtube their are people that are using a PC with the Kenict and the light gun and nuncuk from the Wii to play FPS games with some hacks. it’s very possible to make a very good FPS that’s more like the real thing then sitting on your but the whole time. also look at what PS3 has with the move sharp shooter. something like that with the Kinect that would be a cool game IMO.
