So Chatroulette v2 got silently rolled out yesterday after 6 days of delay. The old Chat roulette was taken down the 24th, stating that the new version should be available the next day. You may be asking, what’s new in the new Chatroulette that is worth delaying it by a long shot? Not much. I went to the website itself for a test drive. The interface is completely redesigned. In fact, it’s hard to use it thanks to the complete lack of instructions. It took me quite some time to figure out how to chat and how to change users. Turns out, for some strange reason, the Next button is moved to the bottom with no label at all. The Webcams windows are moved to the top and the size can be changed by the user.

Now, chatting is a pain in the new version. The website is very buggy, often freezes and unable to so anything unless I refresh. I was greeted by a ad for a Chatroulette Hack software on my first chat, that’s a nice impression! You’d hope they would at least fix the dick problem, right? Not really, I still saw them frequently while clicking Next.

The verdict? I would rather use the old Chatroulette or use Omegle video chat than the new one. The new Chatroulette is incomplete and glitchy. I could imagine this version isn’t intended for public use, partly because of the complete lack of textual instructions, but also the unmarked Next button.
